Revisiting the jungle, an intrepid band found what looked like the same clearing in the jungle. But it was missing the ribbon of cloth that Maggie left. Was it the same place? Was it not? Nobody is quite certain.
It did have the same plants at least, and the group brought back more seedlings, more fruit and other samples. This particular clearing also had a mammoth! Yes, a mammoth. And the group brought back proof in the form of a huge hide to be tanned and a fair amount of meat.
If nothing else, it's clear that it is possible to go out into the fog, find other places (even if they are also struggling with the fog) and bring back supplies.
