They say that Dirk finally tried to get away from his minder, Tanya - punched his way through a wall in the upper city to do it. Only she followed, and the women - the blonde and the redhead with them - just watched. I heard that she carved his epitaph into the wall.
The pumping house in the top of Amber City has eaten people. Four people - Amethyst, Filinia, Danielle, and Gaving went in. Soon all the sounds from inside stopped, they say!
Nobody died. Nobody was hurt. Nobody was even attacked. Nobody's entirely sure if anything DID happen up by the pump house, least of all the people there. Horace and Elise, two young members of society, assure people there were no werewolves involved.
"DRAGON!!!!" comes the yell. Many such yells. Apparently there's a rumour of a dragon with gleaming purple scales just outside the city. In the woods.
There are rumblings throughout the city about the dragon outside the gate. "Don't go out there, it will eat you!" seems to be the prevailing rumour.
Little seems to have happened in the Pump Room of late, but it seems there's a blood-stained altar in there, in the shape of an anvil. It's got a human handprint in it, embedded in the metal, about the right size to be Gavin's.
That dragon by the gates? It was seen up the hill on Kolvir! Flying! It's getting braver!
That purple dragon was around, and there were terrible roars and screams from the woods outside of town. Someone should do something about it, before it eats someone!
"That Dragon! That Dragon! It flew into the fountain and took a bath!" "Ewww, people drink out of that water!" "Do you want to tell the Dragon to not bathe there?" "Uhm, no way, not me! But it's okay, it turned into a blonde woman! And she walked away with a buncha nobs from uptown."
Some time in the darkness, Danielle and the grumpy readhead, Tanya, were attacked by a great poisoned beast summoned by unicorn worshippers! Tanya is dying, and Danielle is badly wounded and seeking a way to heal the stricken sorceress.
