Amy has been trying to figure out how to help Dirk out, how to regrow his hand. It's not something that most folks would know how to do, and she's not sure she does. So she's been trying to do research, and one way or another, she's come up with an idea that there is a small blue flowering plant that can be found out in the forest. It blossoms at night with a very fragrant scent and is incredibly good as a poultice to encourage regrowth. People use it all the time to try to grow hair over bald spots or to help gaping wounds heal. It's worth a shot, so she's heading to the forest to look for it, along with whatever company might be joining her.

It is just past sunset. The day is temperate - not hot nor cold, at least out here just past the gate and into the edges of the woods.

Amy has a couple baskets with her, and a torch, for seeing in the dark. She scouted out a patch of what she thinks is the right flowers during daylight, and has set a blanket nearby. So as she comes back now, she can hopefully find it again. It takes a bit of time to get into the woods walking, so about half an hour in ... "It should be around here somewhere," she says cheerfully.

Danielle looks about for the blanket Amy mentions as she follows in her wake but struggles to see in the dark. " I can't find it" she says

Amy has the advantage of knowing where she left the blanket. On the ground. Which, she's not finding it anywhere. So she turns to look at Dirk. "We'll find it, Dirk. I'm sure of it." And then she turns to look at Danielle and catches sight of the blue material when she does so. Up. In a tree. "Oh, there it is," she says cheerfully, as she heads that way. "But uhm, it's not where I left it."

The blanket is too high up for Amy to reach, given how petite she is.

Danielle offers "Maybe the wind blew it up there" She lets Dirk go for the blanket being the tallest and most agile

Dirk pulls down the blanket and says "Gross. Spider web?"

Amy blinks, looking around now with a worried look on her face. "What do you mean, spider web?" she asks.

There is something sticky that stretches from the blanket to the tree, and the sound of something creaking can be heard up above them.

Danielle looks up trying to catch sight of what she fears is on the web's other end

Dirk tugs the w blanket down hard.

Amy steps back, three steps, and then goes still. "Uh oh," she says. "Uhm, Dirk, help? I'm stuck." Seems she stepped right back into a big web. And now there's a dark critter coming down towards her.

Dirk draws his sword and cuts Amy out of the web.

Danielle concentrates all her energy on gifing the spider a punch, fist out in front of her and though she visibly connects with air there is a thwap as if she has connected with the spider but it is only momentarily stunned and considers its trek toward amy as danielle mutters a low curse

Danielle's punch does do some damage to the spider, which is now dripping a bit of ichor as it looms above Amy. In the meantime, Dirk's precision swordwork starts to get Amy free. Mostly free. She's trying to get out of the way of the spider.

Amy tries to mimic Danielle's action, but nothing seems to happen, probably because she's trying so hard to run forward.

Dirk turns to stab at the spider to help Dani.

gBoth Danielle and Dirk hit the spider, Danielle bloodying its face and Dirk slashing one leg off.

Amy is not impressed, she's got spider web in her hair and on her clothing and it's just icky! But she reaches out a hand, fingers splayed and then closes them, and the web that is still stretching from her to the spider starts to turn to ice, shattering.

Dirk slashes the spider and then stabs at its eye.

The spider looms ominously, but it's hurting. Danielle and Dirk's hits have it shrieking, and there's the sound of scurrying, trees shaking and webs ruffling, but not with something coming towards the group; rather it's something fleeing deeper into the woods. Meanwhile, the spider hits the bit of web that Amy has iced and it slips, starting to topple down. "Watch out!" Amy yells.

Amy still hsa some web on her and she trips over it, stumbling a bit, as she tries to run away. The big spider tumbles end over end and lands on Amy, causing her to hit the ground with an ooof and then go silent.

Perhaps luckily, there are delicate blue flowers beneath her and the spider.

Danielle and Dirk both manage to dodge out of the way.

Danielle is able to roll out of the spiders way but strikes from a distance won't work this time and she doubts she has the strength to get amy out from under solo "Little help here dirk"

Dirk says "The flowers are underneath her!"

So they are, but Amy's stunned, underneath a big heavy spider corpse.

Danielle not unexpectedly struggles with the weight of the spider corps and it doesn't budge as her own feet are sliding in the eartg beneath her as she tries to push

Dirk tries to move the spider but can't do it with one hand.

Groggy Amy is groggy, and stuck. It's hard to breathe when there's a super huge dead spider on top of you weighing you down. As both Danielle and Dirk try to rescue her and fail, Amy might be excused if she panics a bit. Just a bit. Of course, there is a scream that halfway through turns into a roar and the force of a body twisting and stretching is enough to send the spider corpse flying to crash against a very large tree.

Meanwhile where Amy was? There is now a somewhat larger purple dragon. Scales and all.

Dirk points. "See purple dragons!"

Amy is now confused and a purple dragon. And she's not at all sure what happened. She looks at Dirk as he points and comments, and manages a "arooh huh rawrrr" sound.
