It is rainy outside the hospital. Inside, all is peaceful. Calm. Quiet. There are webs up in all the corners.

Amy has enabled some folks with brooms. They are sweeping through the hospital, clearing the spider webs. Just not in the basement, where hopefully the spider corpses are quietly dessicating.

Amethyst rolls with advantage 1 at difficulty 20, using healing, healing nature.
The result is a success.

For Amethyst, the past days have been almost peaceful. Patients have come and gone, and... very few deaths. But now there is a slightly odd thing. The gang members who came in after a knife fight yesterday have left, but their notes do not quite match up right. They should not have been entirely fit to move, yet they have gone. Perhaps someone stole them.

Danielle comes into the hospital to check on things, it having been the site of recent unpleasantness . she eyes the spider webs suspiciously

Danielle rolls with advantage 1 at difficulty 20, using occult, magic sense.
The result is a failure.

To Danielle, looking with otherwordly sight, the spider webs look faintly magical, in the way that the basement webs also did, but it is too faint for her to work out exactly how or why. It is just a smudge of brightness that her inner eye catches.

\Vitas is here to have his stitches removed -- thank goodness and at long last. Which is good, because the urge to chew on them has really gotten quite unbearable. Vitas pads on over to Amy and looks at her with large round expectant eyes.

Amy has something niggling at her, though she is a bit distracted by Vitas and his puppy dog eyes. "Hey, Vitas, how are you? It's time to remove those stitches, right?" she asks. She looks to the desk and those patient notes again, and shakes her head. "How - " she starts. "It feels like some of the patients have left too early."

She waves to Danielle, as she notices the other woman as well. "Hey, Danielle. Are you visiting or did you need something?"

Danielle hms "Just checking on things" she says with a smile "Lots of folks around here don't seem the type to follow orders" Her words present a logical explanation yet the concern her eyes belies her words. something is going on here

Vitas rolls with advantage 0 at difficulty 20, using notice.
The result is a success.

To Vitas, at least, the hospital is a wonderful and pleasant place, other than a smell that reminds him of... let us be honest... charred sea spider. But the walls have been polished up a little. Tiny cracks filled and painted over. Everything is sparkling, without even the unpleasant powdery scent of whitewash. The spider webs are all around, though - up in the corners here and there, even in Amy's room. And that spider web... it must have been there for a few days, as he recalls a dink in the wall which has been mended. Spiders are fast, it seems.

\Vitas thinks that the hospital is a wonderful and pleasant place, on account of it keeping him pleasingly not-dead. Because, y'know: He had got Stabby-Stabbed. (Which led to much owies, Aawrrooooo.) Vitas knows the drill by now. Hm wait. Those webs. Vitas' nonexisting tail threshes nervously. "How are they getting through the walls, we just patched 'em?" Vitas worries, *point*ing with his pointy nose.

To Danielle's magically attuned senses, the *concept* of hunger drifts. Painful hunger. Need for food.

Amy looks to Vitas, and then to the walls, as he points there. Hopefully with his hand. Maybe? "The walls - we did patch them, but - okay, that's odd. I mean, I know we patched them, but there was a spot of plaster here, and it seems to be just the same wall as the rest, almost like new, instead of patched. That - I don't know, Vitas. Something strange is going on." She looks over to Danielle and nods. "That's true. Maybe they did just leave."

Danielle frowns deeply "Unicorn's blood not again.. I think we might have more hungry friends about? I'm sensing hunger from somewhere. Gnawing persistanthunger" She puts her hands around her back and walks the rooom like a guard on patrol

"Well, there was that whole entire feeling even after we took care of those three spiders," Amy puts in.

The 'hunger' feeling comes and goes, not as Danielle walks, but whether she walks or not. There is a rising and falling to it, but it does not seem to come from any particular place.

Amethyst rolls with advantage 1 at difficulty 20, using occult, pattern initiate.
The result is a success.

\Vitas takes his right arm out of his shirt, exposing the stitches, and *clomps* down on a stick that he'd brought to chew on while the stitches come out. Not for the pain, any more, not per se -- by this point it should be minimal. But he's gotten used to it. It's oddly comforting. *clomp*

Clomp. Stick is chewed.

Amy moves to look at one of the spider webs, where she thinks there should be a big globby patch of plaster, but there isn't. She reaches out with what she can, her knowledge of the occult and an undefined sense of - rightness. She tries to see what she can figure out, to see if she can figure out what is hungry, and where her patients are. "I am quite sure it's not the patients who are hungry," she mutters. "They've all been eating quite well." Which might just mean they were healing fast.

She gestures to Vitas to hold up for a moment, curiously. She's not forgetting those stitches but well, she's a tad distracted, and that is not a good time to be removing stitches.

A spider drops down from the web, on its thread, and just for a moment the thread glows in Amethyst's sight. It seemed for the briefest of moments that it reflected something bright blue, a long way away.

Danielle rolls with advantage 1 at difficulty 15, using occult, pattern initiate.
The result is a success.

Amethyst, and Danielle, just for a moment, seem to be wearing boots of blue-white flame. To Vitas, it appears as a flash of light each is standing on, which fades. To them, it feels like, for the briefest of demi-seconds, they are back in THAT place, facing their great... ordeal? test? There was a time that colour and that feeling of electic aliveness was all they were.

\Vitas -isn't- quite sure it's not the patients who are hungry. Vitas is a patient. Vitas is hungry. Erm. Logic? Vitas keeps his mouth shut, though, so that he can keep using it to chew on sticks. And, truth - be - told, Vitas is hungry a lot. True Facts. Just life. time passes. "Do you want me to kick down the wall and release the umpteenbillionish ravening arachnids thirsting to feed on the flesh of the living from whatever foul dimension the Fog comes from?" Vitas worries. It's one of those questions you really hope gets answered with 'no.' "Hey did you step in angel poop? Yer feet are glowin' . . . "

A slow smile. A breath inward. Her face glows not with blue. Not with brightness just with happiness. "It's there. Somewhere. It's sill there" She stands straighter somehow as if she's momentarily forgotten about spiders. Now, she hungers!

Amy sort of freezes, that sensation not the sort of thing that one forgets. She nods slowly to Danielle, eyes wide with realization. "It - no, Vitas. Please don't release the spiders. And not angel poop, at least so far as I know. But - I guess, something." She takes a breath and then says, "How did that spider web get there? I'm sure we swept it away just yesterday."

Danielle grits her teeth and clenches her fist as if grabbing at something "NO you don't. You don't hide from me" she speaks and acts as if there's something tangible about the knowledge and memory that escapes her

A scattering of spiders falls from the webs around the room; without exception, once they land, they crawl away from Danielle.

The spiders are odd, that's for sure. But they're not harming anything. So far as she can tell. Amy moves back to Vitas now. "Time for those stitches," she says, and she sets about removing them.

\Vitas holds still. Chews on stick. Says nothing about spiders. Priorities.

Vitas rolls with advantage 1 at difficulty 20, using animal ken, summoning.
The result is a success.

Amy finishes with the stitches, and then she frowns. "Well, that's good work," she says. "You must have a good doctor, because there's absolutely minimal scarring here. Healed up just about perfectly."

\Vitas nodnods happily. "I do. I do! You're the Best Doc, you are." As Amy leans forward to check the sutures, there's a bit of a 'foop' behind her left ear. Kind of like a 'poof' of a spider poofing into existence from a hideous alternate arachnoidial dimension, but, well, mainly: the exact opposite of that.

The hospital seems to have had an episode of breaking and decorating - has a burglar come in, repaired the walls, and whitewashed over the top? If only all those spiders were gone, it would be tip-top. Still, at least the webs are clean and clinical and white.

Wait, Did Vitas just eat a spider? O.O Amy stills, and then slowly backs off, standing up. "Do I want to know?" she asks, softly.

\"Nope!" Vitas replies quite cheerfully. (( she doesn't )) And buttons his shirt back up. "Thanks doc! Feeling super - better . . . "
